The Zodiac Art Series

This series started from inspiration to work a scorpion into an art piece. Scorpions are intriguing, what can I say? Once I had the Scorpio’ design down on paper, it was time to start thinking about color. I discovered that each Zodiac sign has a color spectrum. This sparked the idea to do a piece for each sign, using the colors from the respective palettes. I didn’t use all the colors from each spectrum, but since I have a pretty good repertoire of acrylic paints I was able to incorporate about 12 different colors for each piece.

Each piece was produced by hand, then professionally photographed by Pixel2Editions here in San Diego, and finally touched up in Photoshop.
